Keeping it classic: It’s hard to go wrong with an order of Saz’s Sour Cream and Chive Fries, but if you’re looking for the real deal, order the combo platter. In addition to chive fries, you’ll get Leinenkugel’s Battered Cheese Curds and hand-rolled Mozzarella Marinara. According to Saz’s website, more than 30,000 sampler platters are sold at Summerfest alone. Other classics include pizza from Angelo’s, mini donuts from Sil’s Mini Donuts and ice cream from Cedar Crest Ice Cream.

For the deep-fried aficionado: Deep-fried foods aren’t just for dinner, they’re for dessert. Street taco joint Vagabond, near the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard, will dish out deep-fried mojitos. The confection features lime rum-flavored cake soaked in lime rum, flavored with simple syrup and mint cream cheese filling, battered and deep fried. It’s then topped with lime rum-flavored syrup and mint-flavored whipped cream.

Satisfy your sweet tooth: While we’re on the topic of desserts, Brady Street favorite Peter Sciortino’s Bakery is adding a second location this year. The new location (near the BMO Harris Pavilion with Miller Lite), will sell jumbo cupcakes. This includes the jump salty dog: a vanilla cupcake filled with light caramel buttercream, roasted pecans and sea salt.
