Temple alternative education cuts recidivism in half, officials say

Temple schools reduced repeat assignments to the Wheatley Alternative Education Center by 50 percent since 2014, according to a presentation made at a Temple Independent School District board meeting.

In the 2016-2017 school year, there have been 186 students sent to the alternative school, with 126 returning to their home campus.
