The following law enforcement agencies of the region reported summaries of their activity for July:

State police, Kiski Valley

State troopers at the Kiski Valley station responded to 419 calls for service last month, according to a report.

Criminal investigators received 60 reports of offenses, determined that six were unfounded, cleared 45 cases and arrested 44 people.

Patrol officers responded to 29 accidents that resulted in one death and injuries to nine people.

Investigators reported the fatal wreck was not connected to alcohol use, but determined two accidents were alcohol-related.

They arrested seven motorists for driving under the influence, and issued 380 citations and 76 warnings in July. Troopers wrote up 22 drivers for seat belt violations.

Police at Kiski Valley assisted 25 motorists and conducted 11 commercial vehicle inspections, according to the report.

Clymer Borough police

Borough police issued several citations for traffic infractions in July, including one for disobedience, two for exceeding the maximum speed, one for violation of a weight limit and one for failing to travel at safe speed, Chief Joe Douglas reported.

Clymer Borough officers also issued two non-traffic summary citations — one for criminal mischief and one for disorderly conduct.

Indiana County sheriff’s office

Deputies at the Indiana County sheriff’s office screened 10,309 visitors to the county courthouse and 2,040 people entering the domestic relations section office in July, according to a monthly activity report.

Sheriff Robert Fyock reported the staff performed 286½ man-hours of court security, served 680 hours of security for court facilities, and spent 109 hours in transportation of 60 inmates between the county jail and courthouse.
