Traveling with a family is often rather expensive, as not only is it necessary to feed everyone in the family but longing for the larger group also requires additional funding. With the ability to rent out someone’s house for a given period of time it makes it that much easier to not only afford the vacation, but to actually save money while out on the vacation.

When a larger family goes out on vacation, they typically have to rent out several different hotel rooms in order to stay in the city or region of their choice. Hotels generally don’t provide a discounted rate for extend stays, as the hotel rental price costs the same from one day to the next, whether the family stays for two days or two weeks. However, with vacation rental homes, it makes for a much more valuable offer.

Vacation rental homes are less expensive when rented over an extended period of time. Typically, a week rental is actually cheaper per day than what a weekend rental is. This way, the longer the family stays in the house, the less they pay per day (many homes offer an even further reduced monthly rate over the weekly rate). Of course, there is more to saving money than just the cost of the home. When a family goes to a new location, they need to eat, and the easier way to do this is to eat out. With no real kitchen in the hotel, eating at local restaurants is necessary, but is is also expensive, as paying for several individuals over three or so courses a day is often more expensive than the room itself. However, when renting out a house it is possible to use the kitchen inside the house and prepare some of the meals right there.
