Back in the day, growing up as the son of a peasant, Ruto was a part time preacher and the Chairman of the Christian Union in school.

The couple was on Sunday, August 13 at a church service just a few days after Uhuru Kenyatta was declared winner at the General Election.

Rachel has previously been on the news praying for Kenyan leaders and the nation in general.

Ruto on the other hand is staunch Christian and has a fondness for the gospel that he developed in his school days.
