Peru announces youth camps, activities, crafts | Free

Friday, June 2nd, 2017:

The city of Peru has announced its summer recreation schedule. Peru Recreation Camp sign-up is 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7 at Washington Park for the camps and activities that require advanced registration. Some of the activities listed below do not require registration in advance. (There will be a $10 fee per program for nonresidents.) Upcoming programs: Messy Art: 10-11:30 a.m. June 26-30 for ages 8-11 at Washington Park with camp director Melissa Cassidy. Sen. Josh Newman recall gains traction – Orange County Register

The Buzz is the Register’s weekly political news column. The recall of freshman state Sen. Josh Newman has gotten off to a strong start in making the ballot, with recall proponents announcing Friday, June 2, that they’d collected more than half of the 63,592 signatures needed in the first month of circulating petitions. They have until Oct. 16 to finish the job, which would mean a November or December special recall election. Recall proponents are upset with the Gov.
